Eole blanc 2022

A white wine from the Alpilles region that is highly influenced by its stony terroir

Planted at high altitude in a small valley forgotten in the heart of the Alpilles, our white wine develops an aromatic richness that is both fresh and refined, with a pleasantly balanced richness accentuated by lovely tangy notes. Airy and marked by subtle hints of apricot and peony, the Eole white wine displays a persistent tension and purity that extends all the way through the finish.

It’s an airy wine that’s fresh and delicate, with a mouthfeel that is both lively and ample, leading to a fruity and refreshing finish. Its acidity and length on the palate make it an excellent match for both crab and shrimp.

L’Epicurien – july 2022: A beautiful pale gold color releases a fine and distinguished nose, with a beautiful floral expression and pleasant citrus notes. After a well-defined attack on apricot, this wine offers a fresh palate.

Kiss My Chef – 22/06/08: Marked by its mountainous and stony terroir, Éole Blanc 2021 […] is both rich in aromas and delicately refined. This luminous white wine, with sunny reflections, is an airy wine with subtle aromas of apricot and peony. Fresh and delicate, the palate has a bold, gourmet, and ample attack, and stretches into a fruity and fresh finish. Long in the mouth and finely acidic, Éole Blanc 2021 is a delight to enjoy as an aperitif with hummus, eggplant caviar, or fresh cheese and tuna rillettes. At the dinner table, it perfectly pairs with sea urchins, grilled whitefish with citrus, crispy chorizo cod, Provençal mussel soup, stuffed vegetables, garlic shrimp stir-fry, salmon tartare with avocado, and more.

Valeurs actuelles – 2021/06/03-09 – By Richard Burtschy : […] The immense Rolle grape is mixed in equal parts with the sweet Grenache Blanc. Perfectly adapted to the Mediterranean climate, the Rolle grape, known in other places as Vermentino, loves dry and hot climates where it manages to preserve its essential freshness. The Grenache Blanc grape, robust and round, is a bit of its antithesis and originates from Spain. The Éole estate is located in Eygalières, a small village in the Alpilles, overlooked in the classification of the Baux-de-Provence which is nestled in the hills of Aix-en-Provence. Prior to 1946, they were called the coteaux du Roy René. In a sea of rosé wines, white wines are in the minority (5%) but of good quality. Especially when they combine two complementary grapes under the authority of the god Éole, the master and supervisor of winds.

L’Alsace.fr – 2021/05/23: […] The 2020 vintage is aged for 6 months on fine lees. This elevage allows the wine to develop its full aromatic power and give roundness to the fragrances of apricots and tangy fruits. It persists in the mouth with subtle saline notes. In addition to having a very good quality-price ratio, this white wine is a model of freshness. How to pair it? Perfect for a family or friends’ aperitif, you can enjoy it with Mediterranean antipasti or a grilled fish served with a spring vegetable medley.

Challenges – 07/06-03/27: Rolle and white Grenache planted on high-altitude soil, this white wine from the Alpilles region is a delight with aromas of apricot jam and white peach. On the palate, it is full of succulent roundness and stretches out to a fresh, fruity finish.

L’Alsace – 19/05/04 : This bright white wine, with sunny reflections, evokes a small getaway in Provence. A fresh blend, with subtle notes of apricot jam and peony, with a tempting hint of brioche. The attack on the palate is crisp, marked by fresh peach aromas. With a beautiful length on the palate and a tangy finish, the Eole Blanc blend is perfect for a sunny aperitif, paired with grilled fish, avocado and crab cocktails, tuna rillettes, shrimp salad, or eggplant caviar.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate – 19/05/01: (rating:89 – drink date : 2019-2020) A 60-40 blend of Viognier and Grenache Blanc, the 2018 Coteaux d’Aix en Provence Eole Blanc is ripe and rich, filled with aromas of peach, pear, melon and tangerine. It’s medium to full-bodied in the mouth, round at first, but narrowing quickly into a long, crisp, lime-laden finish.

Gold Medal, Aix en Provence

Le Monde – 17/06/15: Another favorite from this winery (whose wines we love) produces a magnificent white wine here made from rolle and white grenache. It is undoubtedly the blend with this second, uncommon grape variety that gives it such rich aromas of nectarine and aromatic herbs. A bright wine.
